The Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) scheme offers payments to individuals who export surplus renewable electricity produced by their solar panels or other renewable sources back to the National Grid. This allows homeowners to sell any unused energy produced from renewable sources, such as the sun or wind, to the grid instead of letting it go unused and wasted.
